Once at the scene, officers found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. The two victims were given aid, and medical support arrived soon after. While one was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, the other died on the scene as a result of his injuries.

The police department could not provide more information about the shooting. The incident is currently under investigation by the department’s homicide team.

This is occurred after two shootings in the neighborhood last month, one on Oct. 22, where one person was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries, and another the next night where a person was shot driving their vehicle and left in critical condition.

San Francisco Supervisor Dean Preston, who represents the district the Haight neighborhood is in, tweeted after the incident, "This is the 2nd shooting in District 5 in two days," he wrote.

"This kind of gun violence is unacceptable in our communities. We look forward to gathering in a COVID-safe manner to share information, updates, and support as we work together to make our communities safer," he added in the Twitter thread, including that he intended to hold a meeting with community leaders to discuss improvements to public safety.
