KCBS FOODIE CHAP:
Chef and Restauranteur Beau MacMillan
Chef Beau MacMillan has cooked in some of America's most distinguished kitchens. A two-time James Beard Foundation award-nominee for Best Chef: Southwest, he hails from Plymouth, Massachusetts and is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
In March 2006, Chef MacMillan was invited to The Food Network's kitchen stadium to compete in an episode of the hit series, Iron Chef America. He was pitted against Iron Chef Bobby Flay in "Battle American Kobe Beef." Ultimately, Chef MacMillan's cuisine reigned supreme, letting him claim victory over Flay. Hooray!!
He moved to the desert almost three decades ago and calls Scottsdale home and a place to enjoy great food;
“What I love about Scottsdale, Arizona. It's not just, you know, roasted peppers and nopali and cactus and that type of story. It's everything” says Chef Beau
I met Chef Beau MacMillan on a recent visit to Arizona.
Chef Beau MacMillan prepared a stunning Beef Cheek recipe for some lucky V Foundation community members. As we gathered for his feast in the desert, Chef made it very clear why he supports organizations like V Foundation.
“Cancer affects everyone, and we've all been affected by it. So anytime you get involved with something like V Foundation and give back, you're saving someone's life. generally”.
Enjoy my tasty talk with Chef Beau MacMillan, a Chef with a heart as big as his big, bold flavors.
