FOOD FEATURE: CHEF DOMINIQUE CRENN
Celebrate all things "CRENN" by way of a delicious pop-up at Petit Crenn through January 28th, Wednesday-Sunday, 5 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Three Michelin starred Chef Crenn has many exciting things happening in 2023: reimagined Atelier Crenn & Bar Crenn on Fillmore Street, San Francisco. As the movie The Menu (Chef consulted on the cuisine or the film's "food porn") is being served up at movie theaters across the land, a design team is working feverishly to prep the two key Crenn spots for early February openings. Chef Crenn has her first new opening this year beyond the Bay, in her homeland France: "we are bringing a taste of California to Paris with the opening of Golden Poppyin late Spring. It's an homage to all that this state has given me and I want to share it with Parisians. I hope they like it" says Chef.

FESTIVAL: NAPA TRUFFLE FEST
Truffles Truffles Truffles - it's all about our favorite funghi that has people flocking to Napa one magical culinary weekend. Truffle Chef Ken Frank of La Toque, Napa will be joined by Chef Roland Passot for a Truffle Dinner like none other.  The weekend is about education with a splash of wine and scrumptious servings of Michelin-starred-truffle-enhanced cuisine. Yours truly, the "funghi" will EMCEE portions of the weekend . See you in Napa Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th. Cheers to truffles and the Napa Truffle Fest.

CRAB SEASON: BILLINGSGATE
Come one come all and enjoy the bounty of the Bay and beyond at Noe Valley's seafood restaurant & store Billingsgate. The daily fresh crab catch at market rate is on offer daily.  Take it home or enjoy right there as fresh as can be at Billingsgate Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

TASTY TV: CHEF DYNASTY
This makes me happy, seeing a local (Bay Area) Chef shine and in this case the spotlight is richly deserved. San Francisco Chef Kathy Fang sets out for "Chinese cuisine world domination" as she serves up mouthwatering fusion dishes that challenge everything you thought you knew about Chinese food. Through the push/pull dynamics of working alongside her father and business partner, Peter Fang, Kathy strives to expand her restaurant and brand while also honoring her family's legacy. Enjoy the first tasty few episodes now on Food Network.

EAT HERE: GOOD GOOD CULTURE CLUB
Finally made it to this sweet spot in the Mission from Chef Ravi Kapur (LiHo-LiHo) Standout items:

Lao Snack Plate:sesame beef jerky, crispy pork puffs, japanese cucumber, eggplant.

Beef carpaccio:crispy pig ear, asian pears, house made ploy, frilly red mustard .
Crying Tiger Shrimp Salad: coconut-makrut cream, cucumber, cabbage, serranos, crispy butter beans.

The cocktail program is knockout. I had the Black pink sling: oxley gin, black & pink peppercorn syrup, benedictine, calamansi, pineapple, soda, black lava salt. They accept walk-ins but resys are recommended.

Note: You order your food via an ipad on the table but servers will be present to deliver your dishes & answer any food questions.

I wanted to devour everything on the menu at Good Good Culture Club - I guess I'll be returning soon for more. Open Tuesday - Saturday 5 p.m. - 9.pm.

FOOTBALL: NINERS V SEAHAWKS
What to say but hoping #13 Brock Purdy continues his winning streak into the postseason as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday at 1:25 p.m. This game is crucial on the march to the Super Bowl and my crystal ball says NINERS go all the way! #goNINERS
