Meet Chef Phillip Moratin, Executive Chef at Archer Hotel, Napa

"Chef Phillip’s talent is a perfect fit for Archer Hotel Napa — refined, ingredient-driven, and full of

With a seasonally inspired approach and a deep connection to Napa’s culinary community,
Moratin now leads the kitchens at Charlie Palmer Steak Napa and Sky & Vine® Rooftop Bar. He’s ushering in a fresh era of wine country dining at the boutique downtown hotel — one rooted in Napa’s agricultural heritage and expressed through local purveyors and peak-season ingredients.

Over two decades, his career has spanned some of Napa Valley’s most revered kitchens including Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc, Angèle Restaurant & Bar, Far Niente Winery and The Charter Oak under Christopher Kostow.

Chef Phillip Moratin is the Host Chef at Vines, Views & Vibes at The Archer Hotel, Napa on Thursday, June 26. Chef Moratin will create an inspired signature dish for the event.

Thanks to the generosity of our friends at Sonoma Valley Authors Festival, Chef Douglas Keane, our main featured Chef, will sign a copy of Culinary Leverage for everyone in attendance! Keane has been named Chef of the Year in both Esquire and San Francisco Magazine, Top Chef Pacific in the James Beard Awards, winner of Top Chef Masters, and his restaurant has earned two Michelin Stars.

I talked to Chef Phillip recently about the upcoming V Foundation fundraiser on the rooftop at The Archer Hotel. We also talked about food and his love of ska music and more.
