FILM: BANSHEES OF INISHERIN
Set in rural, coastal Ireland, “The Banshees of Inisherin” centers around two pals Padraic (Colin Farrell), a friendly cow herder, and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), a brooding fiddler. They have been drinking together nearly every afternoon at the local pub for as long as anyone can remember until Colm abruptly declares an end to their diabolical friendship. “I don’t want to be your friend anymore!” Padraic responds with wounded incredulity. How does this witty, brilliantly written and superbly directed film end? You will have to find out for yourself. “The Banshees of Inisherin” is now playing in Bay Area theaters.
FESTIVAL: COUNTRY WINE WEEKEND
Country superstar Tim McGraw is the headliner at a new food and music festival called “Wine Country Weekend” in Napa with TV Chef Guy Fieri. Tim will perform on Friday, October 21, at Silver Oak Cellars. Chef Fieri will prepare a barbecue feast on Saturday, October 22, to honor the residents of Yountville Veterans Home, healthcare providers and first responders. Netflix show host Phil Rosenthal of “Somebody Feed Phil” has a new book out with insider moments, fun photos and recipes from the show. Partial proceeds go toward IAMALS.org to honor his mom and dad, regulars on the show who both passed in recent years. Rosenthal’s show, now in its sixth season, takes viewers on a culinary tour of the world with an open mind and an open mouth!
