Chefs Evan and Sarah Rich have recently opened their newest restaurant and it’s already winning over diners. It’s RT Bistro in Hayes Valley, San Francisco.
“The farmers market is at the heart of what we do. We could not do this [RT Bistro] without all the beautiful things from the market,” says Chef Sarah.
The Bistro by the Rich Table team is as much about the vibe as it is about the menu. As Chef Evan told me, the menu is inspired by San Francisco and Northern California.
“We do a Cali-Croque, a twist on the Croque Monsieur but with sourdough, wild fennel, date butter with steamed broccoli and California cheddar blend on top then into the wood-fire oven,” says Chef Evan.
There are so many things to love on the menu at RT Bistro. The burger and the Cali-Croque are stars for sure, but the one thing that stole my heart and teased my taste buds was the thrice cooked fries that were poached, fried and fried again in rendered beef fat. The final touch is a light shower of the RT Bistro umami powder which is available for purchase.
