FOODIE PICK: GLOBAL CUISINE AT RITZ CARLTON,HALF MOON BAY
The final Global Cuisine series at Navio at the Ritz Carlton (Half Moon Bay) is underway this Saturday and Sunday. Hosted at the bucholic coastal Ritz resort, the series is a culinary collaboration at Navio between Navio’s Chef Francisco Simon and Michelin starred restaurants from coast to coast. FESTIVAL: NAPA FILM FEST
The new movie Lamborghini will be one of many movies being screened at the Napa Valley film festival - located at the CIA at COPIA on Friday, Saturday Sunday.
The wine country film fest features a curated group of films and honoree tributes that celebrate artistic achievement and brings to Napa some of this year’s most talked about films and performances. Special CIA-created culinary events take place in tandem with four special screenings, celebrating the food and wine culture evoked in each film. Lamborghini the movie is on track with fast cars but please take note, no “fast food” will be served with this film!!
EVENT: ROCKET DOG RESCUE
Emmy Lou Harris, one of the first ladies of country comes to the SF JAZZ center this Saturday at 6 p.m. She’ll be the headliner for the Rocket Dog Rescue fundraiser. TV: SALUTE TO VETERANS
“American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes” is returning to U.S. airwaves on Veterans Day with Emmy nominee Rob Riggle reprising as this year’s host on the History Channel special.
The TV special is a collection of dozens of stories about American heroes in military history told by celebrities like Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Gayle King, Edward Norton, Sarah Paulson, Chris Pine, Chris Pratt and Hilary Swank, among others. The special will air Friday at 8 p.m., learn more about Salute to Veterans here.
EVENT: AUTHORS LUNCHEON
The National Kidney Foundation’s Authors Luncheon is the largest literary event of its kind in the Bay Area, allowing those who are passionate about literature to join with NKF in the effort to transform kidney care and improve the lives of millions through education, advocacy, and research.
This year’s event will be held, in-person,Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at San Francisco’s historic Palace Hotel. We will also offer a virtual option so guests can join from the comfort of their favorite reading nooks all over the globe.
