FUNDRAISER: MENU FOR MAUI
Following the devastating wildfires in Maui, Fountain Restaurant at Signia by Hilton San Jose is launching a way for Bay Area residents to showcase their support with the introduction of a new brunch menu. The Menu for Maui features:
- Pineapple Mimosa
- Ube Custard French Toast Pudding
- Braised Short Ribs Loco Moco
- Fish and Poi
100 % of the proceeds from the Menu for Maui will benefit the Kokua Hospitality and Restaurant Fund. Beginning this Sunday, August 20, and running on Sundays through October 1, guests dining at Fountain can opt for the "Menu for Maui'' alongside regular brunch offerings. With direct family and residence ties to Hawai'i, Executive Chef Hanz Letz and Executive Sous Chef Joseph Derla designed this menu to inspire support for restaurant, bar and hospitality workers displaced by the wildfires that have impacted the West Maui communities. FOOD: BLUE MERMAID SF
Meet Chef Amod Singh, Executive Chef at Blue Mermaid Restaurant located at the historic boutique Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf.
A long-time San Francisco resident, Chef Singh possesses a deep understanding of the Bay Area's diverse ingredients and bounty, which he utilizes in his dishes at Blue Mermaid. Drawing inspiration from his cultural and professional background, Chef Singh has curated an elevated Indian American menu serving a broad array of new dishes for breakfast, lunch, brunch, happy hour and dinner service. Yes there is the usual bounty of casual fare one expects at a restaurant at the wharf but each dish is elevated by Chef with subtle strokes of his Indian palate and culinary passion:
- Blue Mermaid burger
- Calamari with honey mustard mayo
- Fish & chips with Chef's tartar sauce
- Spicy cauliflower
There is also a "special" Chef Tasting menu available Monday to Friday and reservations are required:
- Butter poached Maine lobster
- Flavour bomb citrus & sweet pepper ceviche
- Grilled lamb rack with fine herb crust
- Roasted chicken with saffron & pepper glaze
Blue Mermaid Restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and enjoy my lovely conversation with a quiet, humble Chef who lets the ingredients shine and the diners at Blue Mermaid speak with a harmonious chorus of "ooohs, yums and ahhhhs" . Enjoy the knockout cocktails too:
