An earthquake rattled the region just east of the Salinas Valley on Monday.

The magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck at 4:07 p.m. about eight miles west-northwest of Pinnacles, according to data provided by the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was about 20 miles from Salinas.

Initial readings showed the depth at 4.84 miles.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
