San Jose's first homicide of 2022 fatally stabbed in Carl's Jr. parking lot

A man was fatally stabbed Tuesday afternoon in San Jose, marking the city's first homicide of 2022, according to a San Jose Police Department press release.

San Jose police officers responded to a call Tuesday afternoon at around 3:17 p.m. about a possible stabbing.


Once on the scene at the 1600 block of Tully Road, an adult man was found suffering from at least one stab wound.

Officers investigating determined that the victim had been stabbed in the parking lot of the Carl's Jr. restaurant nearby. After sustaining his wound, the victim managed to drive a short distance away and drove up to a Shell gas station at Tully Road and King Road.

The victim then crashed into another car at the gas station, according to the report.

Despite emergency medical attention at the scene and then transportation to a nearby hospital, the victim died from his wound.

The incident is under investigation. Police have not yet revealed the identity of the victim.

The San Jose Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident to please call the homicide division at 408-277-5283. Tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a cash reward provided by the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers Program, the statement said.
