Man found dead aboard BART train in East Bay, suspected overdose

A man was found dead inside a BART train on Tuesday night due to a suspected drug overdose.

The body was discovered aboard a San Francisco Airport bound train at the Pleasant Hill station at approximately 8:49 p.m., BART police said.

Officers administered two doses of naloxone in an attempt to resuscitate the victim, but he remained unresponsive. Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed that he "may have" died from an opioid overdose.

Foul play is not suspected at this time.

No other details, including the victim's identity, have been released.
