Things appeared to be running very smoothly at San Francisco’s new, mass COVID-19 vaccination site at Moscone Center on Friday, its first day open.

People waiting in line to receive their vaccine and exiting the center after getting the shot told KCBS Radio that they were incredibly happy with the process.

“I want to thank the mayor and the governor,” said one man. “Thank you, thank you.”

Phyliss Harding said that getting the vaccine was fabulous, but until California’s online vaccine system My Turn launched, getting an appointment was a nightmare.

Harding told KCBS Radio that she was spending 3 to 4 hours online searching for appointments.

“The communication on how to get an appointment has been abominable,” she noted.

Harding said she’s hopeful My Turn will help, but, of course, the number of appointments available are still limited to the number of doses that the state and county can get.
