Two 28-year-old women were selected last week from a pool of thousands of applicants for a year-long "dream job" at a Healdsburg winery, set to pay a lucrative $10,000 a month.

The posting for the apprenticeship from Murphy-Goode Winery, one of California’s largest vino corporations, went viral in March due to a massive digital campaign that branded the opportunity as "A Really Goode Job."

In addition to the $10,000 per month salary, the job also includes rent-free living in picturesque Healdsburg.

Seven thousand wine enthusiasts submitted "creative and inspiring" video applications for the position, according to a winery press release. Murphy-Goode narrowed the search to 17 finalists in July and welcomed them to Healdsburg for in-person interviews.

Veronica Hebbard of Orlando, Florida, an engineer for Disney, and Lindsay Perry of Austin, Texas, a marketing specialist for a cheerleading broadcaster, were each chosen, despite neither having any professional experience in the wine industry. They both started wine-centered Instagram accounts during the pandemic.

The winery announced their hiring on August 4, and said they were selected because of "their passion for wine, creativity, humor and drive."

"When we started out on this journey, we cast the net wide to find candidates with unique experiences and points of view," Murphy-Goode winemaker Dave Ready, Jr. said. "I’m looking forward to working with Lindsay and Veronica this harvest, but also learning from each of them, and seeing what new ideas they will bring to the job."

Hebbard and Perry each start their new jobs on September 1.
