Internet is on the way for Muni riders.
One of the improvements SFMTA has made to Muni trains during their extended closure is the addition of WiFi in the subway thanks to routers installed in stations and cellular antennas within tunnels.
Subway service is expected to return in May.
The repairs and advancements are supposed to lead to fewer breakdowns in the tunnels.
Rides are also expected to be smoother, better lit and new artwork has been installed at the entrance of the city's West Portal and Castro stations. Riders will also notice new and improved signs to help people find their way around the Muni system. Those are installed at the Castro and Church stations.
