Police are investigating an officer involved shooting in Napa involving a father and son.
Shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to the 1600 block of Pear Tree Ln. and Soscol Ave. after receiving reports of a family dispute. Witnesses told police that a son had a loaded gun and was pointing it at his father in front of their house.

As the officers approached the home, they heard gun fire and saw the son armed with the weapon "acting in an imminent threatening manner," prompting an officer to fire his gun, shooting the man.
The officers provided life-saving emergency treatment to the armed man until paramedics were able to rush him to a local hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Per department policy, the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
