When officers arrived at the scene, the backdoor of the building was open. Inside, police found a man, Desmond Stites, 55, of Amboy, Washington, allegedly stealing items.

Stites had entered through the back door, which had likely been unlocked, and began taking items. When police arrested him, he was reportedly wearing a pair of gloves stolen from the store.

While he was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for commercial burglary, as of Monday, he is no longer in custody, according to Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Deputy Russell Davis.
