
SANTA CRUZ (KCBS RADIO) – A woman was arrested on Monday for her involvement in a hit-and-run collision that killed a pedestrian late Sunday night in Santa Cruz.

Sunday night at around 10 p.m. Jessica Thompson, 39, was driving a 1999 Mercedes Benz westbound on Capitola Road, west of 7th Avenue. It's unclear how fast she was going.
She then hit a 69-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair crossing the roadway.
After the collision, Thompson fled the scene going west on Capitola Road. According to a release issued by the California Highway Patrol, the car was then found abandoned nearby not long after.
The man was taken to Natividad Medical Center for life-threatening injuries and then died.
Thompson was located and arrested Monday morning at her home. She has been charged with felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter and hit and run.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
