
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – A passenger from a San Francisco Bay Ferry jumped overboard on Sunday afternoon into the Oakland Estuary.

The incident happened around 4 p.m.
According to the Water Emergency Transportation Authority, the captain of the boat was quickly notified of the situation by witnesses and turned the boat around to start a rescue operation.
Water emergency crews from the U.S. Coast Guard were called out to the scene to handle the rescue while ferry personnel stayed on the scene.
The Alameda Fire Department and other agencies were on hand to assist.
The incident caused some disruption to ferry operations but service was soon restored to Oakland and Alameda with some delays.
WETA could not confirm the condition of the passenger to KCBS Radio on Monday morning.
