The incident happened at about 8 a.m. along Uvas Road, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Russell Davis told KCBS Radio. First responders at the scene quickly jumped in the water after seeing bubbles coming from the partially-submerged vehicle, but were unable to find anyone.

It was later determined the driver of the vehicle – an unidentified woman – was taken to a hospital by a good Samaritan who stopped and offered her assistance before authorities arrived.
Davis said she then took herself to a nearby hospital.
Multiple agencies, including CAL FIRE, California Highway Patrol and Rural Metro Ambulance, assisted in the effort.
