The discovery of a lost piglet in the East Bay has brought a whole new meaning to the phrase "bring home the bacon."
Police are searching for the owner of a stray piglet found wandering the streets of Pleasanton on Thursday.
Community members saw the piglet meandering on Vineyard Avenue and Leona Place and safely turned the animal over to police.
Since an owner could not immediately be located, the piglet was placed in and remains under the care of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office's East County Animal Shelter.
Officials continue to search for the lost piglet's owner. Anyone with information is asked to call 925-803-7040.
