One year ago today, Bay Area skies were transformed into an eerie orange haze by Northern California wildfire smoke.

On Sept. 9, 2020, many residents woke to dark skies, wondering if they had possibly forgotten to set their clocks back for daylight savings time. But as the hours progressed, it was clear that the orange hue was there to stay.
