Fire officials responded to the scene due to a report that came in just before 4 a.m., according to an Instagram post by the department.
"Fortunately the neighbors heard the collapse, and they said it sounded like thunder coming down," Ross Valley Fire Battalion Chief Gavin Illingworth told the station. "They have been in contact with the homeowners."
No one was injured in the collapse. Investigators are now evaluating the damage.
The Ross Valley Fire Department did not respond to KCBS Radio's request for comment.
