Napa County Sheriff's Office deputies heroically rescued a drowning bull from Lake Berryessa on Thursday.
Authorities said they received a call about a cow struggling in the water Wednesday night.
Deputies James Hartley and Jose Schiavoni arrived on the scene and found the exhausted steer immersed in the lake about 25 feet deep and 400 yards from the shoreline. The two officers rode jet skis into the water and worked together to rope in the animal and pull him back to shore.
The sheriff's office said the bull's owner was "thankful for the quick thinking and hard work."
