A woman accused of stealing a nine-month-old puppy in Pacifica over the weekend has been arrested and charged with several crimes, including grand theft of a dog.

Police said 51-year-old Kerri Livingston of Pacifica took the Yorkshire Terrier mix puppy from a home's front yard in the 100 block of Shoreline Ave. at about 3:40 p.m. on Saturday. The incident was captured on the home's surveillance system, but an "extensive search" of the area turned up nothing.

Less than an hour later, officers were called to a reported domestic disturbance at a nearby shopping center – which ended up being related to the missing puppy. Neighbors had gone looking for the puppy, telling responding officers they spotted someone with "a similar dog" at the shopping center.

The dog's owners came and identified the dog.

They requested the female suspect be charged.

Livingston was taken into custody and booked at the San Mateo County Jail for grand theft of a dog, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call 650-738-7314.
