Hundreds of thousands of dollars of merchandise has been recovered in a California Highway Patrol operation, including Louis Vuitton items stolen during the notorious smash-and-grab at Union Square.
An estimated $185,000 of stolen merchandise was seized by an Organized Retail Crime Task Force on Sunday, CHP revealed in a Facebook post.
The stolen goods are believed to come from multiple retail outlets. Photos uploaded by CHP showed cosmetics, sunglasses, jackets, pants, clothing security tags and what appears to be trash bags filled with stolen items.

A known fencing suspect was arrested and booked for organized retail crime charges following the operation, officials said. The suspect's identity has not yet been released.
It is unclear how much of the merchandise is from Union Square.
