The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. at the 2000 block of 13th Avenue, police said.
In the video, two hooded individuals are seen approaching the driver side door of a gray vehicle. One of the suspects in a yellow sweatshirt points a gun at the driver and yells at him to get out in an apparent robbery or carjack attempt. A loud bang is heard shortly after and the two suspects subsequently flee the scene.
The victim, identified as 52-year-old Kon Fung, was working his job as a DoorDash delivery driver when the shooting occurred. He died at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
Detectives hoped that by releasing video of the shooting, someone from the public will be able to help them identify the suspects. The shooting was the city's 63rd homicide this year. Police said they do not believe Fung was targeted because he was Asian American.
The Oakland Police Department is offering a $12,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950.
