San Francisco Police have arrested a 19-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent assault onboard a Muni bus that left the victim with a traumatic brain injury.

The suspect was the subject of a news release earlier this month as investigators hoped a public push to locate him would lead them to an arrest.

Six days later, Epriece Collins turned himself in at the department's Mission Station stemming from the October 3 incident.

Police said a 44-year-old man riding a Muni bus lost his balance and fell when a Muni bus came to a stop near Mission St. and Duboce St. When the operator called for an ambulance and told the other passengers to get off the bus, police said Collins got back on the bus and threw the victim out of the rear door.

He hit his head on the sidewalk and suffered a traumatic brain injury, and is still in the hospital receiving treatment as of Collins' arrest last Thursday.

Collins was booked at the San Francisco County Jail on charges of aggravated assault by force likely to cause great bodily injury and battery resulting in serious bodily injury. A person of interest also listed in the news release has been identified, but police didn't clarify if they were in custody.

The incident remains under investigation.
