A San Francisco Police vehicle was caught on camera running a red light in the Sunset District when they hit and injured two bicyclists earlier this month.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, one of the cyclists, a 44-year-old man, was hospitalized and both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Video obtained by the paper showed the patrol car's lights and siren were not on when the collision happened December 4 at Sunset Blvd. and Vicente St.
The cyclists struck the driver's side of the vehicle.
An attorney for one of the cyclists said his client will be pursuing a civil case against the San Francisco Police Department.
Supervisor Gordon Mar, who represents the Sunset District, said police told him both a traffic probe and an administrative investigation is ongoing. District Attorney Chesa Boudin said police have not notified his office about the crash.
