The Sacramento History Museum reported that they were allegedly robbed on Saturday.
After reviewing surveillance footage, officials found that at 5 a.m. on July 31 a person broke into the museum’s front entrance and went straight for gold artifacts in a display case.
The museum reported that their alarm systems sounded properly, but the burglar was gone by the time police officers arrived.
Officials are currently investigating the identity of the burglar.
The museum has not yet estimated the value of the stolen gold artifacts.
