Many of the protestors at San Francisco City Hall are from the disabled community and their goal is ger JFK Drive reopened to cars. Victoria Bruckner is disabled and needs a car to get into the park.

"Some of us are not athletically fit enough to do what the bike coalition would like us to do, which is give up driving forever," Bruckner said.

The de Young Museum also wants JFK reopened. Paria Dea the spokesperson for the de Young said the closure has contributed to a steep drop-off in visitors during the pandemic.

"We've had a decline of 48% at the De Young," Dea told KCBS Radio. "When at Legion of Honor it has only been an 18% decline."

Many cyclists like Miles Epstein continue to push for an end to traffic in Golden Gate Park.

"There is an incredible sense of entitlement I think that cars should go wherever they want whenever they want and I don't think that is legitimate anymore," Epstein said.

The city has recommended the permanent closure of JFK Drive to private vehicles. The policy started during the pandemic and City Supervisors are likely to vote on the closure plan next month.
