The San Francisco Fire Department Bureau of Equipment has been declared the winners of a 2021 station decorating contest after bringing snow to San Francisco.
The department won over the judges Thursday afternoon with a spectacular winter wonderland display, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

"This kind of thing really brings some joy to everyone. And if you go around the city and look at these stations you'll see how much effort was put into it," fire chief Jeanine Nicholson told the station.
The decorating contest originated in 1948, but was only practiced until 1950. However, after a 70-year hiatus, the contest was brought back in 2020 to bring light and joy to unprecedented times during the pandemic.
Out of 12 stations, the judges chose three winners, awarding them $6,000 to give to the charity of their choice. The San Francisco Fire Department Bureau of Equipment was granted $3,000, Station 38 in Pacific Heights was given $2,000 and Station 19 near Stonestown Galleria received $1,000, according to the paper.
