A San Francisco flower shop was destroyed this week after a burglar broke in and set it on fire.

Frank's Floral Shop on 19th and Irving St. in San Francisco's Sunset District is now a charred shell of the beautiful business it once was.

"I took care of this place as if it was like my child," devastated owner Sona Pehlivanien said to KTVU.

The flower shop, which had been standing for 35 years, was a beloved go-to for many San Francisco residents when they needed a bouquet, a corsage or a party display. Pehlivanien was known for her personal touch and thoughtfulness when crafting flower arrangements.

"This person - you did not have to burn it down," she said forlornly.

The motive and identity of the burglar is currently unknown.
