San Francisco man arrested by FBI for participating in deadly pro-Trump siege at U.S. Capitol

A San Francisco man who is a self-proclaimed member of the far-right Proud Boys group has been arrested by the FBI for participating in the deadly pro-Trump siege at the U.S. Capitol building.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Daniel Goodwyn, 32, was identified by federal officials "through a series of videos, Instagram messages and Twitter posts" as one of the people who charged through barricades set up in front of the building while Congress was certifying the presidential election results last month.

The paper said Goodwyn was taken into custody on January 29 in Corinth, Texas outside the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He’s charged with knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

His personal website lists him as a "highly motivated" web and mobile app designer and developer.

Goodwyn is reportedly still in custody and awaiting a Friday court appearance.

Five people were killed as a result of the riot, including a Capitol Police officer.
