The San Jose Fire Department found a man dead inside his home when they responded to a house fire early Tuesday morning.
Officials said firefighters responded to the fire on the 2000 block of Estate View Way at around 1:05 a.m., seeing smoke rising from the home.
The fire was under control after about an hour, with firefighters needing to make a forcible entry into the home. Fire officials said firefighters found the body of a man in his 40s inside the house.
Arson investigators were called to the scene, but officials said the fire appears to be an accident.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
