On Sunday just before 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a welfare call, in which the caller said she'd killed her mother, at the 4800 block of Springdale Drive.

Once on the scene, an adult female was found suffering from at least one stab wound and was soon pronounced dead.

The woman who called and also the suspect Cheryl Ann Yee, 27, was taken into custody at the scene and has since been booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for homicide.

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office has not yet confirmed the identity of the victim.

The San Jose Police Department's Homicide unit is conducting the investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 408-277-5283 or submit anonymously through the P3TIPS mobile app or on www.svcrimestoppers.org.
