San Mateo police said they are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Saturday morning in the parking lot of a bank.
The shooting occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank on West Hillsdale Blvd.
"What information we've received from witnesses is there was a solo male shooter who approached the victim in the parking lot of Wells Fargo, shot him at least five times and then fled on foot," Michael Haobsh, with the San Mateo Police Department, said.
He told KCBS Radio that the shooting was targeted and isolated.
"Based on the information that we have at this time, the Wells Fargo is not involved," Haobsh noted. "Employees from Wells Fargo are not involved."
