
A 19-year-old man has been arrested as a suspect in two November robberies at a high-end sneaker store in Santa Clara.

Santa Clara Police arrested Gregory Jefferson at his home in Pittsburgh, where they found 30 boxes of luxury sneakers, clothes and hangers with the store's name on them, the Santa Clara District Attorney office reported. Police also found a "ghost gun" with a 30-round magazine loaded with ammunition.
Jefferson will be arraigned Tuesday on organized retail theft, commercial burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property and assault weapon felony charges, the release stated.
According to the Santa Clara District Attorney office, the robbery occurred at 1 a.m. on Nov. 23, 2021, about 18 people broke into The Fix Kicks store in Santa Clara Town Center. The group used a gun to break into the business and stole about $80,000 worth of items. Five days later, 28 people broke into the same store using a saw to get through the security gate and stole about $112,000 worth of merchandise.
Santa Clara police investigated both incidents and was able to identify Jefferson as an active participant in both robberies.
Due to the robberies, The Fix Kicks has closed the retail location and is only selling merchandise online.
