The flood warning is effective Tuesday night through Thursday. Officials want residents to be ready to leave.
These warnings are not unusual in the Felton, Ben Lomond and Boulder Creek areas where residents told KCBS Radio mudslides aren't uncommon. "It's definitely concerning if you're lower to the creek or you're lower to the river. There's like two or three main ways off of the mountain, so having one of them basically taken away at a moment's notice, it gets a little scary sometimes," two women explained.

Authorities are urging people to take this upcoming atmospheric river seriously. "Get your house ready for inundation, elevate any important items off the ground in your home, in the garage. Make an evacuation plan," Jason Hoppin with the county advised. "If you do need to stay, the county does have solar preparedness and recovery resources on our website."
Residents should know their evacuation zone, which can be found at community.zonehaven.com.
