Santa Rosa explosion sends one person to hospital with burns

An explosion Friday at a propane supplier in Santa Rosa sent one person to the hospital with burns, officials said.

The Santa Rosa Fire Department told KCBS Radio that the explosion happened at the Suburban Propane center on West College Ave. at about 11 a.m. A small fire broke out, but was quickly extinguished by fire crews.

Fire officials said one person was transported to the hospital with first degree burns and is in stable condition.

Both directions of West College Ave. were closed but have since reopened.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
