On Dec. 25 at around 6:00 p.m., a driver picked up a passenger in the 1700 block of Yulupa Ave. in Santa Rosa. The driver drove the passenger to the entrance of Shiloh Ranch Regional Park, but upon arrival, the passenger attacked the driver from the back seat.

The suspect stabbed the victim twice in the neck and once in the elbow and then fled the scene, Sonoma police reported.

Despite suffering from two stab wounds, the driver drove himself to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Hardin, a white man, approximately six foot one, 150 pounds with dark brown hair. While searching for Hardin, detectives warned the public to not approach the suspect if they spotted him.

Violent Crimes detectives believe the attack was "a random act of violence."
