Two fishermen have been rescued however a San Francisco man remains missing in the ocean at Muir Beach on Monday afternoon.
The three men, all from San Francisco, were hiking to water from the Muir Beach overlook, according to Golden Gate National Parks Service officials. Two of the men were rescued cliffside and brought to shore unharmed by a California Highway Patrol helicopter, but the other individual remains missing.
The parks service said that the area where the men were sits above the beach by steep rocky cliffs and there is no trail to the water.

No other information was available. It's unclear how the missing man was separated from his group and how the other two men were able to be found.
The search is being conducted by the National Park Service, Marin County Fire Department, South Marin Fire Department, Muir Beach Fire and the U.S. Coast Guard.
"We appreciate the public’s support and thank our highly trained and professional partners, especially air operations and the CHP helicopter that made the two successful cliff rescues," the park service tweeted.
The agency added that search efforts will continue until it's "unsafe for personnel to do so."
