A San Francisco Sheriff's Deputy has passed away from natural causes after collapsing while on duty Tuesday night.
Officials said 56-year-old Linton Martin collapsed while working at the county jail in San Bruno. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"We will miss his laugh, his positive attitude & memorable pancake breakfasts. May he RIP," a tweet posted by the sheriff's department read.
Martin graduated from Lincoln High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He joined the sheriff's department in 2001 following his graduation from the San Mateo Police Academy.
Martin is survived by his wife and several children.
His oldest son currently serves as a San Francisco Sheriff’s Deputy.
