Shooting injures 3 people attending peace vigil in Antioch

Three people were shot and wounded while at a peaceful vigil Sunday evening in Antioch, according to police.

The Antioch Police Department reported that at around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a call of multiple shots fired on the 1300 block of Larkspur Lane.


A crowd of people had gathered to attend a peaceful vigil when unknown gunmen began opening fire on the group.

Three people were shot, including a 17-year-old juvenile, a 23-year-old male, and a 20-year-old female. The victims were quickly transported to nearby hospitals to receive medical treatment. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

The suspects are still at large, and police have not disclosed any leads in the investigation.

This wasn't the only shooting in Antioch over the weekend. On Saturday, police responded to a call about a shooting at 10:40 p.m.

On the scene, officers found a 36-year-old male suffering from fatal gunshot wounds on the sidewalk in the 5200 block of Travesio Way.

The Antioch Police Department Investigations Bureau and CSI team are investigating. No suspects have been identified or apprehended.
