Due to an ongoing investigation, San Jose Police are asking neighbors to stay away from the home of the suspect in Wednesday's VTA rail yard shooting.

If you head down McLaughlin Ave. towards Angmar Court where the suspect lived in San Jose, you'll be turned around by police.

Temporary tents have been set up with police RVs at the base of the court.

"It's horrible. I think it's time to do something," neighbor Can Trong told KCBS Radio. Trong lives across the street from Angmar Court.

Trong said he lived near the suspect for around 20 years and crossed paths with him many times but the two never exchanged words.

"It's surprising to know it happened so close to home," explained Kimberly Pham, who also lived in neighborhood.

Officials on the scene determined the shooter, identified as 57-year-old VTA technician Sam Cassidy, used gas in order to start a fire at his home before he killed nine people and himself in the worst mass shooting in the Bay Area in 30 years.

Santa Clara County Sheriff Lori Smith told KCBS Radio that police also found explosives in the house.

Investigators are not sure how the suspect created the fire, but said he may have set up some sort of device to go off at a certain time.
