A small plane has crashed in Palo Alto on Monday afternoon, spilling gallons of fuel.
The plane went down at about 1:50 p.m. in the area of 1925 Embarcadero Rd. One person has been rescued from the crash, according to reporting by KPIX.
The craft has been identified as a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron which went down after hitting power lines northeast of the Palo Alto Airport.
The airplane was carrying 166 gallons of fuel, which then spilled into the Baylands, according to reports by Palo Alto Online. A hazardous waste team has been dispatched to the scene.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
