No one was hurt when a small plane making an emergency landing hit a vehicle during the late afternoon commute in the East Bay on Tuesday.
Livermore Police said the emergency landing resulted from the plane's engine trouble. They've advised Isabel Ave. near I-580 is closed between East Airway Blvd. and Portola Ave. as the investigation continues.
The plane touched down on Isabel Ave. and appeared to have collided with a white sedan nose-first about 5:10 p.m.
The pilot told KPIX-5 they had just left the nearby Livermore Municipal Airport and lost power on takeoff. "Don't know (what happened)," the pilot said. "That's up to the (National Transportation Safety Board) to figure that out."
They were heading to Napa, where the plane is based.
The plane has been identified as a Mooney M20E, a four-seat, single-engine propeller plane, according to KPIX-5.
It is reportedly registered to a San Francisco resident.
