The over month long dry spell ended late Monday night and was followed by more scattered showers on Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday's weather system not only brought rain, but also pelted hail onto multiple areas in the region. The National Weather Service reported hail sightings in Santa Clara, San Benito, Napa, Sonoma, Contra Costa, Alameda and San Francisco Counties.
In addition, snow was seen covering some of the Bay Area’s highest elevations, including blanketing Mount Hamilton in Santa Clara County.
A freeze warning this week, originally issued for North Bay, Salinas Valley and San Benito County, was updated on Wednesday to include inland areas of the San Francisco Bay Area and the Central Coast and is scheduled to last until Friday at 9 a.m.
Temperatures dipped into the 30s region-wide Wednesday morning, with some inland areas plummeting into the 20s.
