SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – Proving yet again why he is the Greatest Of All Time, Stephen Curry graduated from Davidson College Sunday with a major in Sociology — 16 years after first stepping foot on the campus.

The Golden State Warriors point guard completed his final semester of coursework this spring and is set to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree, becoming an unexpected member of the nationwide class of 2022.

In 2009, Curry left Davidson to enter the NBA but never let go of his belief in the importance of education. He pledged he'd be back to finish his degree.

Curry re-enrolled in Davidson College and, with the instruction of two members of the Davidson faculty, a Stanford University professor and UC Santa Cruz professor, he was able to earn his diploma.

"Stephen Curry has on many occasions emphasized the importance of education, how much he valued his Davidson College experience and that he is committed to earning his degree," the school wrote in a statement.

Curry was unable to attend Commencement, but Davidson College "looks forward to an opportunity on campus in the future when we can present his diploma," officials said.
