Officers at the festival heard a gunshot at 7:44 p.m. and found an 18-year-old Fairfield man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg, Vacaville police said.

The wounded man was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injury.

Police got a suspect description and an off-duty officer attending the event helped detain an armed suspect fleeing the festival, police said. The suspect was arrested for suspected probation violation, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted homicide.

The police shut down the festival for the rest of the evening to further investigate the incident. Officers said the festival will resume on Monday.

Fiesta Days is a five-day event held annually downtown at Andrews Park.
