Police are searching for a serial spray paint vandal who's been targeting Black Lives Matter signs in an upscale Piedmont neighborhood.
"We’ve been hanging Black Lives Matter signs in our yard for some time," Mike Cvet told KCBS Radio.
But recently, the BLM signs at Cvet's house on Moraga Ave. have been defaced by a masked vandal who comes around at night. Several neighbors have been hit. Cvet said it’s been happening for "a number of weeks," adding that he’s been through "a whole bunch of (BLM) signs."
"(The suspect) walks up onto people’s front lawns or their porches and spray paints over 'Black' on the Black Lives Matter signs," he said.

Cvet believes the vandal's intentions seem clear.
"The man is trying to silence Black voices and perspectives on the discussion we’re having nationwide over social and racial equity," Cvet explained.
The vandal has been caught on video by several home surveillance cameras. Cvet said that because of the vandalism, more neighbors are actually putting up signs supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
"We give everybody fair warning that they may get vandalized and they’re happy to put them up regardless. They don’t care."
Piedmont Police are investigating after at least two reports were filed.
Several signs supporting the Black Lives Matter movement have been vandalized across the Bay Area, including a highly-publicized incident in Martinez.
